Near 90-degree weather expected in Kansas City area for next few days
After a cool morning in the metro, Kansas City will see temperatures climb to near 90 degrees Thursday as the heat of summer begins to settle into the area, said FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee.
“It’s going to be a great morning; a little chilly but we will have sunshine,” said Countee who provides weather updates to The Star.
The morning started in the 50s, but highs were expected to climb into the upper 80s during the afternoon.
“Overall, it’s a great day to get outside,” Countee said. “If you can’t do it today, we’ll still have plenty of opportunities. No big changes in our temperatures as we move throughout the next five days.”
The forecast is calling for highs in the upper 80s through the weekend and climbing back to 90 degrees by Monday, which is a little bit warmer than what Kansas City typically sees this time of year.
The normal high for the first half of June in Kansas City is the lower 80s, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill.
“But it’s summer in Kansas City and the long ranger definitely looks like it,” Countee said.
It is expected to be dry and warm this weekend. No severe weather is expected.
Highs to start next week will be in the low 90s. Along with the heat, the humidity returns, he said.
