Scattered rain, gusty winds and cooler temperatures likely in Kansas City Wednesday

The Kansas City area will be dealing with scattered rain showers Wednesday morning and gusty winds throughout the day, FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee said.

“This morning we will be dealing with some scattered rain showers, maybe around the metro and north of I-70,” said Countee, who provides weather updates to The Star.

“Temperatures are pretty cool this morning compared to the last several mornings. No more 70-degree start. You’ll want a jacket as you head out the door,” he said. Highs are expected to be in the 70s on Wednesday.

A wind advisory remains in effect as gusts could be as high as 50 mph west of Kansas City Wednesday morning, Countee said.

“Some of those higher gusts spread east right around 35 to 45 mph around lunch time,” he said. “They will be calming down as we move throughout the afternoon and into this evening.”

Highs return back into the 80s for the remainder of the week and into the weekend with 90-degree returning early next week, he said.
