Kansas City heat advisory remains; Tropical Storm Cristobal may bring relief Tuesday
A heat advisory remains in effect Sunday as temperatures are again expected to reach into the mid-90s with the heat index nearing triple digits.
Sunday’s high of 94 will drop to a low of about 73 overnight before the heat index is expected to top out in the upper 90s again Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
Kansas Citians may find some relief from the temperatures Tuesday as what remains of Tropical Storm Cristobal could bring some heavy rain to central and eastern Missouri, according to the weather service.
A 50% chance of storms is in place after 8 a.m. Tuesday, and then again Tuesday night as the high temperature hovers around 85 degrees.
Sun returns Wednesday, which is expected to be the coolest day this work week with a high of 80 and an overnight low of 60, according to the weather service.
No storms are predicted for the rest of the week. The high temperature is expected to remain in the low to mid 80s the rest of the week.
The National Weather Service recommends anyone outside in the heat drink lots of water, take regular breaks, wear lightweight clothing and use sunscreen.
