Kansas City weather: Heat is ‘all we’re going to see for the next few days’
A heat advisory will be in effect in Kansas City Saturday afternoon as temperatures stay in the 90s throughout the weekend according to FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank in a weather update for The Star.
“It’s hot and that’s all we’re going to see for the next few days,” Frank said.
High temperatures on Saturday, Sunday and Monday are in the 90s, Frank said. Though heat indexes could mean it will feel like 100 degrees on Saturday.
A heat advisory will be in effect over the area from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, Frank said.
In a Twitter post the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill advised residents to drink water, take breaks from activity, dress in lightweight clothing and apply sunscreen.
A reprieve from the heat could come Tuesday and Wednesday, Frank said. A tropical storm system is expected to brush the area on Tuesday, dropping temperatures into the 80s and reducing the humidity.
Temperatures, Frank said, will rise back into the 90s on Thursday.
