Severe weather and scattered storms possible in the KC area Saturday
Warm temperatures and scattered showers are expected in the Kansas City area on Saturday before strong storms are possible overnight.
Temperatures will raise to 76 degrees by 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon, said FOX4 Meteorologist Garry Frank in a weather update for The Star. Throughout the day, he said, storms could bring heavy rainfall.
“The storms that develop are going to pack a punch,” Frank said.
By late afternoon, Frank said, more consistent storms could develop in the area. The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill posted on Twitter Saturday morning that there’s a possibility for severe storms in Northern Missouri Saturday night.
Those storms, the weather service said, could include strong winds and hail. A tornado cannot be ruled out.
After Saturday night’s storms, Frank said he expects the weather to dry out on Sunday.
