Soggy week ahead for Kansas City with rain almost every day; severe storms possible
It’s going to be a soggy week for Kansas City as rains move into the metro area Monday morning, said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“We’ll have temps going from the 40s to the 50s, but then that’s as warm as it’s going to get for your Monday,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “Rain chances will become a little more widespread as they afternoon unfolds, especially off to the south and west.”
Rain could arrive in the metro area late morning into early afternoon.
“Through the afternoon and evening it’s going to be rather soggy and this is a theme for the week ahead with rain chances almost every single day,” Ritter said. “Storm chances area also in the forecast starting Wednesday through the back half of the week.”

The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill said an active weather pattern will being Wednesday, with periods of heavy rains and the possibility of some scattered strong to severe thunderstorms Wednesday evening.
The stormy weather will continue through the end of the week, with chances for strong to severe thunderstorms and heavy rain, the weather service said.
While the heaviest rains this week is expected to fall south of the Kansas City area, the metro could see between 3 and 4 inches of rain from this week’s storms. Flash flooding could be possible as the rains move through the area this week, the weather service said.
