Rain and warmer temperatures in the forecast this week for the Kansas City area

Chances for rain are in the forecast this week for the Kansas City area, but warmer temperatures are as well, according to FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank.

The forecast calls for warm temperatures Sunday, with a high of 73, and a chance of rain Monday morning, said Frank, who provides weather updates to The Star. The high temperature Monday is forecast at 77 degrees.

On Tuesday, the Kansas City area has about an 80 percent chance of rain, and the high temperature is expected to reach 71 degrees.

“That looks to be a little bit more of a soggy day here, but other than that we’re going to be in pretty good shape the next few days,” Frank said.

After temperatures cool down Wednesday, with a high of 66 and a low temperature in the 40s, the weather will warm up again, he said.

Highs on Thursday and Friday are expected to be in the 70s, and Saturday may see a high of 81 degrees
