Thunderstorms heading for Kansas City early Monday morning, and again Tuesday

Another sunny, clear day is expected in Kansas City as Sunday’s highs inch near 70 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

But the clear skies won’t last for long. Thunderstorms will likely roll into the area around 2 a.m. Monday before making an exit around 8 a.m. as the low drops to 55 degrees.

Monday’s daylight hours will likely see temperatures upwards of 75 degrees, a high that will hover in place again Tuesday.

Another storm system is expected to sweep through the metro area Tuesday afternoon, bringing rain and a high chance of thunderstorms, according to the weather service in Pleasant Hill.

Tuesday’s low will be in the mid-50s.

The rest of the work week will remain mostly clear as temperatures reach the low 80s by Friday, according to the weather service.
