Gorgeous day expected in Kansas City before rain storms overtake metro on Wednesday
It’ll be a delightful day in Kansas City Tuesday, but the pleasant weather will be short-lived as storms and thunderstorms threaten to bring rain to the metro area Wednesday, said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“It’s going to be absolutely gorgeous outside later on today,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “We are expecting 72 degrees and sunshine and you need to get out and enjoy it because the rest of today will be very comfortable, even with a little bit of a breeze.”
That will not be the case Wednesday.
“Tomorrow morning we will wake up dry early, but quickly rain will overspread the metro, especially on the south side of I-70, nudging up toward Kansas City,” Ritter said. “We are expecting off-and-on rain throughout the morning and into the afternoon and evening before the rain moves out.”
BEHIND THE STORY
MOREHow we did this story
The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
The high on Thursday will pop back into the 70s. But more rain and thunderstorms return on Friday.
Highs will be a little cooler over the weekend, but warmer temperatures return next week.
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill said no severe weather is expected with the storms.
