Kansas City to get blast of warm air Tuesday, followed by a cold front Wednesday

The temperature Tuesday will near 80 in Kansas City, said FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

“Temperature wise, that’s looking pretty good for tomorrow assuming we get enough sunshine in the afternoon,” said Lauria, who provided a weather update for The Star.

Wednesday will start out warm with temperatures around 60, but a cold front from the north and west moves through Wednesday afternoon.

The temperature will drop Wednesday night.

“The winds are going to be pretty gusty — could see 20, 30 mph winds Wednesday evening,” Lauria said. “And then the temperatures will just drop on down, probably end up in the 30s to around 40 on Thursday morning, but with the wind blowing, it’s going to feel chillier than that.”

Friday and Saturday will be in the 50s.

Another cool downturn comes Sunday and then early next week, Kansas City will get “a dump of cold air,” Lauria said.

“That could set the stage for something weird to happen next Monday or Tuesday. When I say weird, I mean something wintry —maybe,” he said.
