Kansas City area temperatures will rise near 80 degrees before a cold front moves in

Temperatures will rise to nearly 80 degrees in Kansas City before dropping drastically by the end of the week, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.

Though there may be a few pockets of drizzles Monday morning through the early afternoon, the rest of the week’s forecast is mostly dry, said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.

Monday temperatures, thanks to some breaks in the clouds and gusty wind conditions, should reach into the 70s, Ritter said.

The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.

Tuesday and Wednesday temperatures should be approaching 80 degrees.

The National Weather Service reminded Kansas Citians to enjoy the pleasant weather responsibly. Both Kansas and Missouri are under stay-at-home orders due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Thursday is when temperatures should drop, Ritter said.

“We have a cold front on the move Wednesday into Thursday,” Ritter said. “That’s going to bring some pretty significant changes where we go from the 80s or near 80 to into the 50s for highs for the end of the week.”

On Thursday, Kansas City should see highs around 58 degrees. Temperatures will drop slightly to a high of 56 degrees on Friday.
