Kansas City has seen a week of sunshine and warm weather. But it won’t last

After a week of sunshine and warm weather, temperatures will start to cool down as rain makes its way into Kansas City, FOX4 metorologist Michelle Bogowith said.

But for now, temperatures will range from the upper 50s to the middle 60s for the rest of the week, said Bogowith, who provides weather updates for The Star.

“As we head throughout the end of the work week though, you’ll notice temperatures cooling off a little bit,” Bogowith said. “That will keep us hovering pretty close to the 60-degree mark.”

On Wednesday, temperatures should reach up to 63 degrees. Temperatures on Thursday and Friday will hover in the high 50s.

The National Weather Service said the nice weather has also caused the region to dry up, increasing concerns for potential fires. Those concerns are focused on Thursday.

“You’ll notice surging numbers as we head to the start of the weekend,” Bogowith said.

On Saturday, temperatures soar into the 60s.

Sunday is when it gets cloudy. Bogowith said to expect plenty of cloud coverage on Sunday. That moisture, she said, will bring in a chance of rain.

How we did this story

The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.

“(It is) definitely going to be with us for your Monday morning commute right into the afternoon and evening,” Bogowith said. “At times, we could have some heavy downpours of rain.”

Then, Bogowith said, temperatures will cool back into the 50s.
