Sunday afternoon feels like spring in Kansas City. But Monday? Not so much
The springlike weather that has accompanied a warming trend is continuing Sunday, albeit with some clouds, according to FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee.
Temperatures on Sunday should reach 66 degrees, but cooler weather is in the forecast for Monday, the start of work week.
“Throughout this afternoon, mostly cloudy skies will continue with a chance of showers south and east of town,” said Countee, who provides a weather update to The Star.
Communities such as Warrensburg, Sedalia, Butler and Paola could experience some light rain and drizzle Sunday afternoon at around 3 p.m., he said.
The Kansas City area, including downtown, will continue to be dry but cloudy.
“All of that rain is moving east, away from us as we head toward tomorrow morning,” he said.
It will be cold enough for some areas, north and west of Kansas City, to see some passing snowflakes. Kansas City will see a decrease in clouds but a drop in temperatures on Monday, with a high of 48.
The cool weather will be short-lived as temperatures for the rest of the week will be in the 50s and 60s, Countee said.
“We are staying dry, and it looks like a better chance for more sunshine as we head toward Friday,” he said.
