Temperatures rise, bringing springlike weather to Kansas City for the weekend

Springlike weather is expected to return to Kansas City for the weekend with temperatures warming up into the mid 60s for Saturday and Sunday.

“Just know our temperatures are continuing to warm,” said FOX4 meteorologist Michelle Bogowith in a weather update for The Star.

Although temperatures started in the 30s on Friday, Bogowith said they will warm up into the low 50s by the end of the day.

After Friday things will continue to warm up throughout the weekend, Bogowith said. The high is expected to be 65 on Saturday and 66 on Sunday.

“It’s also going to be extremely, extremely windy,” Bogowith said.

Winds out of the south could be as strong as 25 to 30 miles per hour, she said.

Late in the day Sunday, Bogowith said, clouds will move in. Storm systems south of the Kansas City area will bring a chance of light showers for Monday and Tuesday.

Bogowith said she expects temperatures to stay in the 40s and 50s throughout next week.
