Four Hickman Mills students have minor injuries in school bus crash

Four middle students from the Hickman Mills School District had minor injuries following a crash involving a school bus Thursday afternoon, according to a district spokeswoman.

The crash involving the bus and two other vehicles, was reported about 3:38 p.m. at Blue Ridge Boulevard and Eastern Avenue in Kansas City, according to the fire department and police.

Marissa Cleaver Wamble, the district spokeswoman, said the four injured students from Smith-Hale Middle School were transported by ambulance after the wreck.

According to Kansas City police, the school bus was crossing over into Blue Ridge Boulevard from Eastern Avenue when a southbound car struck the school bus. Witnesses told police that the car appeared to be driving at a high rate of speed.

The driver of the car was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, police said.

No other injuries were reported.
