This weekend’s weather will be warm, but don’t expect it to last
Kansas City temperatures will warm up this weekend before another cold front moves in next week, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
On Friday, temperatures will reach into the upper 20s, said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
“(That’s) still below freezing,” Ritter said, “but it’s progress.”
Warmer weather comes in Saturday.
“Heading into the weekend, it gets even nicer,” Ritter said. “We’re going to see temperatures dropping into the 20s overnight and then bouncing back into the 40s on Saturday.”
On Sunday, temperatures will be in the 50s, she said.
According to the National Weather Service, warm temperatures will continue throughout the day on Monday, with a predicted high of 54.
BEHIND THE STORY
MOREHow we did this story
The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
But by late Monday and early Tuesday, another cold front moves into the region. Ritter said rain, or a wintry mix, is possible. The weather service said there is a 30% chance of precipitation on Monday.
“Then it’s just cold for the rest of next week,” Ritter said, as temperatures stick around in the 20s and low 30s.
