Freezing weather lingers in Kansas City this week, and will return again Tuesday

This weekend will provide some some relief for Kansas City from the snow and freezing temperatures before temperatures plunge again, according to FOX4 meteorologist Michelle Bogowith.

Even though Wednesday morning’s snow has stopped, slick spots on the roads could stick around into the afternoon, said Bogowith, who provides weather updates to The Star.

The National Weather Service said the snow has shifted east of Kansas City.

Wednesday night temperatures will drop well below freezing. Thursday morning will have freezing temperatures and possibly freezing fog.

The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.

The rest of the week isn’t much better.

“We will be in the 30s, that’s all you will get,” Bogowith said.

But on Saturday, temperatures will climb into the 40s and keep climbing Sunday.

“More sunshine returns for Super Bowl Sunday with highs soaring well into the 60s,” Bogowith said. “(Temperatures) hang on Monday before we take the plunge.”

Tuesday has a high temperature forecast of just 30 degrees.
