‘Several days of wintry weather’: Cold temps and chance for snow to stick around KC

Kansas City is in for several more days of wintry weather, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

The temperature will fall close to zero degrees Tuesday morning, said Lauria, who provided The Star with a weather update.

“During the afternoon tomorrow, temperatures should warm up, probably around 32,” he said, “although in downtown Kansas City, temperatures may be close to 35 degrees.”

Clouds will start to increase and going into Wednesday morning, there will be light to moderate snow.

“That’s problematic because that means we may have slick roads develop during rush hour on Wednesday and those slick roads may continue through lunch time,” Lauria said.

Then a rain-snow mix will fall in the afternoon.

“This system is going to hang around on Thursday, hang around on Friday,” Lauria said. “We’ve got several days of wintry weather coming our way.”

Highs will be between 30 and 35 degrees through Sunday.

“Hopefully next Monday we’ll start to get above 35 degrees to start out the next work week,” he said.
