More snow on the way to Kansas City later this week, to be mixed with cold rain
After snow clears out of the Kansas City area Monday, more is on the way later this week, according to FOX4 meteorologist Michelle Bogowith.
The snow that moved into the Kansas City area early Monday is expected to move out in time for the evening rush hour, said Bogowith, who provides weather updates to The Star. It will likely max out at 1 inch, she said, and many areas will accumulate less.
The National Weather Service warned that even the lesser amounts of snow could quickly make roads slick.
Temperatures Monday night will drop to 7 degrees, she said, before rebounding to 35 during a sunny day Tuesday.
That will be followed by a weather system that will bring a mix of snow and cold rain to the Kansas City area from Wednesday through Friday.
Wednesday morning may start with snow that will shift to a cold rain later in the day, Bogowith said.
That will continue Thursday and possibly into Friday, with precipitation shifting from snow to rain at times in different parts of the area.
The weekend is expected to be dry, with temperatures in the 30s.
