Temperatures in KC to be mild for a couple days, but it gets chilly later this week

The temperature will be mild the next couple of days, but a chance for freezing rain is on its way to Kansas City, FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria said.

“Temperatures should warm up tomorrow, somewhere between 45 and 50 degrees,” said Lauria, who provided a weather update to The Star.

Wednesday’s high is 45.

“Our next big weather change, aside from turning colder on Thursday, is going to come our way sometime Thursday night, into Friday,” Lauria said.

Friday morning will start below the freezing mark.

“As the system comes up from the southwest, that means the potential of some freezing rain developing,” he said.

That could create slick conditions, but the temperature later in the day will increase to above freezing.

“Saturday and Sunday are chilly with temperatures only around 30 degrees,” Lauria said.

Fans can expect kickoff at Sunday’s Chiefs game to be about 33 degrees.
