Wintry mix possible during Chiefs game in KC, then warmer temps expected early next week
Temperatures are supposed to warm up and the forecast is calling for some sunshine, but there is a slight chance of a wintry mix of precipitation during the Chiefs game Sunday in Kansas City, according to FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank.
During the afternoon Sunday, temperatures are expected to be above freezing for the most part — in the mid to upper 30s.
“But I still expect that there are going to be some areas that are just dealing with some bursts of snow as this is a little bit more of a moisture-packed snow than the dry snow that was blowing around,” Frank said in a weather update to The Star.
The Kansas City area could see some snow flurries in the late afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill. It is not expected to impact road conditions.
Frank said warmer air is expected to move into the region Monday and Tuesday that will likely melt the snow. The National Weather Service on Twitter was receiving reports that 1 to 3 inches of snow fell Saturday across the Kansas City area.
