Enjoy Kansas City’s mild winter weather while it lasts, as a cool down is on the way

Monday was the 19th day in a row with above average temperatures in Kansas City, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

That trend will continue for the next few days, said Lauria, who provided The Star with a weather update.

Tuesday’s high is 51.

“Wednesday — windy, milder, close to 55,” Lauria said. “Thursday we may make a run towards 60, but we’ll probably have some light showers developing at some point Thursday afternoon, into Thursday early evening.”

Friday will bring another shot of rain and a chance for a wintry mix to come down.

“Then on Saturday, another storm passes south of the area,” Lauria said. “Need to track that because if it comes far enough north, we could actually get some accumulating snow.”

Saturday’s high sinks to 28 while Sunday will warm up with temperatures close to 40.

“Right now Chiefs Sunday looks pretty OK,” Lauria said.
