Rain, and possibly snow, are in the forecast later this week for Kansas City
After several days of relatively warm weather, the forecast will call for rain and possibly snow this week in Kansas City, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
The rain is expected to arrive Thursday and may turn into snow Friday, said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
But before that, the work week will start with temperatures about 10 degrees above average for this time of year.
“We’re expecting a pretty warm day today,” Ritter said Monday morning. The high temperature on Monday is expected to be 47 degrees. High temperatures should reach 52 on Tuesday and 53 on Wednesday, Ritter said.
“The rest of the week, as a whole, looks fairly warm at least through Thursday,” she said. “Thursday is the day we’ll start to introduce nuisance weather back to our forecast, with rain.”
Rain is expected across the Kansas City area throughout the day Thursday. That may include thunderstorms.
On Friday, colder air will move in, and some areas may see snow. The high temperature will fall from 60 degrees Thursday to 37 degrees Friday.
Saturday will remain cold, with a high of 34, Ritter said.
Sunday, when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Houston Texans in a playoff game at Arrowhead Stadium, the weather should be better, with sunny skies and a high of 45.
