Chill to stick around Tuesday, but New Year’s Day will be warmer in Kansas City

New Year’s Day is looking nice, but Kansas City could get hit with some snow by the end of the week.

Tuesday’s high is 40 degrees with cloudy skies and wind gusts, said FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

“Tomorrow may be a struggle,” said Lauria, who provided a weather update to The Star. ”I’m not expecting a big warm up.”

New Year’s Day will be warmer with temperatures in the mid-50s by the afternoon.

But a wintry mix and snow may arrive Friday.

“There’s a system coming our way Friday that we’re going to need to watch,” he said. “It could be enough to be impactful.”
