No need for Christmas sweaters in Kansas City, but did we reach a record high?
It felt more like spring than Christmas Day in Kansas City as the temperature climbed to 66 degrees on Wednesday.
That fell just shy of the warmest Christmas on record, set in 1922 when the temperature reached 67.
Many Kansas Citians spent their holiday afternoon strolling outside, swarming playgrounds, playing football and volleyball and flying kites.
Temperatures will remain above normal for the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service’s Pleasant Hill office.
Rain will arrive late Friday and continue Saturday with a chance for light snow on Sunday.
