School closures reported as snow storm hits Kansas City region

School districts in the Kansas City area began canceling classes after a snow storm hit the region Sunday.

The Kansas City area is expected to see between 4 and 6 inches of snow between Sunday and Monday. Other areas could see as much as 5 to 7 inches. A winter storm warning has been issued for much of eastern Kansas and western Missouri, according to the National Weather Service.

The Star is tracking closures of schools, libraries and other locations around the metropolitan area. The list will be updated throughout Sunday and Monday.

Many libraries around the Kansas City area closed Sunday. Several school districts have announced they will be closed Monday.
