When are the best chances for snow this weekend in KC? Latest forecast has details.
Chances for snow this weekend in the Kansas City area start Saturday and get better toward Sunday night, according to FOX4 meteorologist Michelle Bogowith.
The exact timing of the snow and where it will fall are not certain yet, but it will definitely be cold, said Bogowith, who provides weather updates to The Star.
Thursday’s high temperature will be 52 degrees, with a low of 35 overnight.
The cold air will move through Friday into Saturday, dropping temperatures into the 30s and bringing a chance for light snow. Friday temperatures may reach 53 before falling to 28 that night. Saturday may see a high of 35 and a low of 28, with a chance of snow.
A better chance for snow comes at the end of the weekend and into Monday. The exact timing is uncertain, but travel impacts are expected, Bogowith said.
On Sunday, the weather will be cloudy and cold during the noon kickoff of the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium, according to the forecast.
Most weather models show the snow not coming in until at least the second half or the evening.
The snow will likely become widespread overnight, and the Monday morning commute will likely feature snow that continues into the middle of the day.
