It will be ‘very, very cold’ in Kansas City, and there’s a chance of snow on Sunday
Bundle up Kansas City, because temperatures won’t get very warm Tuesday, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“It is going to be very, very cold outside,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “We are expecting temperatures to stay around the freezing mark during the afternoon.”
There will be sunshine with a few clouds mixing in, she said. The cold won’t stick around for very long, though.
“The overall trends are looking less wintry as we head into the extended forecast, but today is going to be a very cold day,” she said. “Later this week we will be in the 40s and even 50s for a couple of days.”
BEHIND THE STORY
MOREHow we did this story
The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
Then the cold temperatures return over the weekend, with a chance of snow on Sunday, which is when the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium.
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill said wind chills would be dangerous Tuesday and Wednesday morning as the values will drop into the single digits over northern Missouri. In the metro area, wind chills will be in the teens.
Areas north of Interstate 70 will remain below freezing on Tuesday and then drop back into the teens and lower 20s overnight.
