Bundle up Kansas City, cold streak to continue with below average temperatures

Arctic temperatures are expected to continue with Tuesday morning starting off around 18 degrees.

The afternoon high will be close to freezing, about 10 degrees below average, said FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria, who provided a weather update to The Star.

The cold air mass will start to move out of the area late Wednesday and into Thursday.

“After some chilly weather for the next couple of days, we should warm up Thursday, into Friday, probably near, if not above 50,” Lauria said.

But another cold shot of air will arrive this weekend. It will linger into next week and could bring some snow.
