Bright, dry and nuisance-free weather to start work week in Kansas City
The Kansas City area will get a break from winter weather as most in the metro area will see sunny and relatively dry conditions throughout the week.
“We have a very bright forecast — less wind in the forecast — today as our highs climb up to 42 degrees,” said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
“As we look ahead to the rest of the week, we have a pretty quiet first half of the week,” Ritter said. “Thursday we may have some issues, especially on the south side of our viewing area, but not everybody will have nuisance weather to deal with on Thursday.”
The overall trend for the week will be bright, relatively dry and much warmer by the weekend, she said.
BEHIND THE STORY
MOREHow we did this story
The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill said wind chills Monday morning will be in the teens, but quiet weather is expected this week.
The quiet weather pattern has allowed the weather service’s meteorologists to work on seasonal readiness exercises and simulation materials.
The extended outlook indicates that above normal temperatures and precipitation are possible for the second week of December, according to the weather service.
