Northbound I-435 closed after crash on KC’s East Side; rush-hour backups build
A crash early Wednesday during the morning rush hour forced crews to close northbound I-435 on Kansas City’s East Side and caused backups in both directions, according to Kansas City Scout, a bi-state traffic management system.
The crash occurred around 6 a.m. on northbound I-435 near Sni-A-Bar Road, according to Kansas City Scout. With emergency vehicles on the road, the left lane of southbound I-435 was closed.
Kansas City Scout traffic cameras showed northbound traffic was backed up beyond East 63rd Street. Meanwhile, southbound traffic was backed up beyond East 23rd Street Trafficway.
