A private island with “amazing panoramic views” is on the market for $1 million — and you’ll find this “Island Dream” in the middle of the country.
Yes, really.
Nestled off the coast of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, are the “iconic Twin Islands” on the Main Channel of the Lake of the Ozarks. One of those two islands was relisted for sale on May 3.
With it comes 880 feet of lakefront property, electricity, a partial seawall and the beginnings of a foundation, according to the Realtor.com listing. It is permitted for a dock, and you’d be “right in all the action” while just a short ride away from restaurants and entertainment.
“There is nothing like this on the market right now,” the listing boasts. “With the lake being busier than ever, this is an opportunity you can’t miss! Imagine building your dream island home or creating the most incredible VRBO compound like the lake has ever seen!”
Property records show the island was listed for $1 million in July 2020, then again a year later with a $5,000 price drop. The listing was eventually removed in January before it was relisted for the original $1 million asking price in May.
“Seller is motivated, so bring all offers,” the description states.
