A treehouse and an underground home in Missouri are two of the “most wishlisted” Airbnb stays across the nation, according to new rankings published by the vacation rental site.

“To help fuel wanderlust, Airbnb has rounded up the current top 10 most wishlisted stays in the U.S. to help inspire your summer travel plans,” the site announced May 19.

Airbnb says the top 10 rentals appeared on the most people’s Airbnb wishlists from May 1 through May 10.

The Missouri treehouse in Perryville came in at No. 5, and the underground home in Springfield is the 3rd most desired Airbnb stay.

Here’s what you should know about each of the Missouri locations.

Unique ‘Earthouse’ Retreat with Spring-Fed Creek

“In third place, (this) is a one-of-a-kind stay that blends creative architecture with modern designs,” Airbnb says. “Enjoying this Earthhouse isn’t hard.”

The 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom underground home in a Springfield neighborhood is “complete with high-end furnishings, modern decor, and abundant natural light,” according to host Monica.

The retreat space is described as “perfect for couples traveling together or families in need of a relaxing escape and a taste of luxury!”

Stays cost about $385 a night.

“Unexpected delights included dozens of cool books and magazines about design, architecture and other inviting topics, along with framed site plans and artist renderings on the walls,” one reviewer said. “Having our four kids along, we were so happy to discover the many vintage children’s books. What a treasure. There were also many toys, board games and lawn games. I needn’t have packed a single thing to entertain our 4 kids.”

TreeLoft at BaseCamp

“This custom built treehouse lies off the beaten path, nestled into the woods of a 120 acre farm, providing guests with silence, serenity and plenty of natural light,” Airbnb says. “In case you prefer star gazing from the indoors, the house features a skylight with an unobstructed view of the Milky Way.”

The “luxury treehouse for two” was designed to connect you with both nature and your travel partner, according to hosts Waylon and Kaci Richardet.

The loft includes a gas fireplace, skylight above the king-size bed, a rain shower for two and a soaking tub. It’s also home to an outdoor hot tub, fire-pit and games to play.

The one-bedroom, one-bathroom home is in Perryville, about 82 miles south of downtown St. Louis.

Stays cost about $304 a night.

“Perfect place to getaway for some peace and quiet,” a reviewer said. “Everything as described. Nothing but good things to say about the whole experience.”
