‘Missouri’s entertainment capital’ ranks as nation’s third trendiest place to travel
Nestled in the Ozark Mountains, a Missouri city is ranked among the nation’s hottest travel destinations of the year, according to a travel website.
Branson placed third in Tripadvisor’s Top Trending Destinations for 2022.
The travel website says it created the list “based on the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings” of places across the U.S., and worldwide, with regards to accommodations, restaurants and things to do from Nov. 1, 2020 through Oct. 31, 2021.
Branson was the only Missouri town — and the only spot in the Midwest — ranked as a top trending destination across the country. Worldwide, no U.S. cities were ranked as a top 10 trending place to visit.
“Missouri’s entertainment capital mingles shows and attractions with plenty of outdoor activities,” Tripadvisor says. “The Missouri city of Branson is jam-packed with diversions. Attend star-studded performances at The Haygoods; explore (nearby) Silver Dollar City theme park; get back to nature in the Ozark Mountains and at three pristine area lakes; play some of the best golf in the Midwest; visit museums highlighting the area’s history and culture; or browse the city’s boutiques and outlets.
“When the day is done, you can decompress at one of the area’s many resorts.”
Specifically, Tripadvisor listed three “don’t miss” activities if you visit the third trendiest U.S. travel spot this year:
The Big Island in Hawaii was ranked by Tripadvisor as the trendiest U.S. place to visit in 2022, followed by Charleston, South Carolina in spot No. 2.
Globally, Majorca, an island off the coast of Spain, took the top placing.
