Missouri reports nearly 300 new cases of coronavirus, bringing total to over 2,100

Missouri reported an increase of nearly 300 new cases of the coronavirus Friday, bringing the total to at least 2,113.

The number of cases has increased by about 15%. The state has reported 19 deaths of COVID-19.

There have been about 21,191 patients tested in Missouri, giving the state a positive test rate of nearly 10%.

Kansas reports a testing rate of about 8.8%.

Missouri has identified about three times as many cases as Kansas has, but it has also tested about three times as many people.

St. Louis County and the city continue to report the most COVID-19 cases in Missouri, making up about half of the state’s cases.

Kansas City, according to the city’s health department, has 154 cases of COVID-19, up from Thursday’s total of 139. The health department reported two deaths.

The Jackson County Health Department reported 132 cases as of Friday afternoon, up from Thursday’s 103 cases. The county also reported that a third COVID-19 patient has died, a man in his 60s. The first two deaths were women in their 80s.

More than one million confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins University, with more than 14,000 deaths. The U.S., with more than 266,000 cases, has the most of any country.
