Six young kids were found locked in a storage unit, and authorities are investigating it as a “child abuse/neglect incident,” Wisconsin police said.
Officers responded to a report of children locked inside a storage unit at about 1:30 a.m. Sept. 16, Milwaukee police told McClatchy News.
When officers entered the storage unit, they found a 2-month-old, a 2-year-old, a 3-year-old, a 5-year-old, a 7-year-old and a 9-year-old inside.
A 26-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were taken into custody, and charges are being reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, police said.
When the children were found, they were alone, according to police.
None of the children were injured, police said, and the investigation is ongoing.
