A couple were arrested after authorities say they locked their children in a “dungeon” at their Pennsylvania home.

State troopers were called to a home on Aug. 8 after Fayette County Children and Youth Services received a report of children living in deplorable conditions, according to a police report.

When troopers arrived, they found five children living in a home with no beds, feces on bedroom walls, windows that were boarded up, and limited clothes and food, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Investigators discovered that the kids’ father would lock them in a bedroom all night and part of the day, PSP said. The door was found with three deadbolt locks on the outside and no door handle, according to authorities.

Court records said the father told troopers he would “not be removing the locks from the bedroom door for any reason,” WPXI reported.

“This room functioned as a dungeon with video cameras hardwired to the father’s room,” according to troopers.

All five of the children were under the age of 14, according to authorities.

Authorities searched the home and found a stun gun, a replica pistol, drugs and drug paraphernalia, troopers said.

McClatchy News is not naming the parents to protect the identity of the kids.

The parents were arrested Sept. 3 and have each been charged with multiple counts including endangering children, recklessly endangering another person, aggravated assault and possession of marijuana, court records show.
