An Ohio man was indicted after police said he fatally shot his brother and grandpa then shot two police officers.

Aaron Sharp, 24, is charged with two counts of aggravated murder, four counts of murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder, eight counts of felonious assault and two counts of tampering with evidence, according to a news release from the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office.

Attorney contact information for Sharp was not available.

The charges stem from an incident on Aug. 7 in when East Cleveland police officers responded to a domestic dispute call, according to prosecutors.

When officers arrived, a family member told them Aaron Sharp had shot and killed two of his relatives and was outside with a gun, officials said.

Aaron Sharp’s 22-year-old brother, Erik Sharp, was found inside the home dead with gunshot wounds, according to prosecutors. His 82-year-old grandpa, Charlie Roscoe, was found with gunshot wounds, officials said.

Two officers went outside to find Aaron Sharp and when he saw them, Aaron Sharp shot them and took off running, prosecutors said.

Roscoe was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries. The two officers were also taken to a hospital to be treated, according to officials.

Authorities searched for Aaron Sharp overnight, then the next day U.S. Marshalls found him near the neighborhood high school and arrested him, prosecutors said.

“We see a lot of tragedy come before us, and this one is especially painful,” Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley said. “The amount of grief Aaron Sharp has caused his family is unimaginable. We will hold him accountable for his actions, and we pray that the family can recover from this horrific event.”

Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting.
