Mini horse shocks farmer by giving birth. ‘Can’t believe what I’m even seeing’
A miniature horse farm owner in Oklahoma was in for quite a shock after she noticed something a little off on her property.
A foal.
Sure, it sounds normal since it is, in fact, a horse farm known for breeding, but the owner didn’t think the horse was that close to giving birth.
“STILL IN SHOCK. Yes, we knew she was bred and due soon. But she didn’t appear to be that close to foaling. That’s why it was a shock,” a breeder of the Mystic Rock Miniature Horse farm just north of Oklahoma City said in a July 16 post.
She even featured the hilarious video of her stumbling upon the baby.
“Y’all, I can’t believe what I’m even seeing right now,” she said as she walks the property to where the appaloosa mini horse is grazing — along with her new foal.
She goes on to say she was looking at surveillance footage of one of her horses on the grounds, when she noticed she wasn’t moving.
“I just came out here and she’s laying out here all by herself. And I could’ve sworn I saw a little head pop up. Oh my god — please tell me it’s the cat,” she gasps as she approaches the scene.
As she gets closer, she realizes it’s not the cat.
“What did you do out here by yourself?” she asks the alabaster horse that moves to nuzzle a small, dark thing near the fence.
“WHAT. Are you serious right now? Where’s everything, where’s the placenta, where did you do this, WHAT’S HAPPENING?”
The baby and mom look healthy and act like this is an everyday occurrence.
“Oh my god, you’re adorable,” the farmer said to the foaling.
People in the comment section couldn’t get enough of the breeder’s reaction, which was a blend of excitement and shock, and also the casual attitude of the horse, whom she calls “Puff” in the video.
“She was full on like finally you’re here look what I made all by myself,” one person joked.
“She says I’m an independent woman, I don’t need no human,” another said.
Puff and the new addition were transferred to the foal pen, the farm said in a July 17 post.
