A man discovered a stranger suffering from fatal gunshot wounds inside his home, according to Ohio officials and news reports.

The Summit County Medical Examiner said first responders found the victim after being dispatched to an Akron home on July 2.

The man who lives in the home had told a 911 dispatcher “some strange guy” was passed out in his home, according to the 911 call obtained by WEWS.

“I don’t know who it is, and I didn’t even know he was here until I just went upstairs and seen somebody laying on the floor,” the man said in the 911 call.

Officials said the 32-year-old victim, identified as Andrew J. Cassell, was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been shot in the head and chest.

His death is being investigated as a homicide, according to the medical examiner.

Police said several shell casings and a handgun were collected at the scene, the Akron Beacon Journal reported.

It’s unclear how Cassell came to be in the home. Police have not released information about possible suspects.
