A 10-month-old bloodhound with an “incredible nose” led troopers to a missing 5-year-old girl, Maine police said.

On May 16, Millie and her handler, Corporal Eric Sucy, found the missing girl in a swamp after Millie tracked the scent from the girl’s home almost a half-mile away, according to a Facebook post by Maine State Police.

The girl was stuck waist-deep in the Palermo swamp, but she wasn’t injured, troopers said.

Commenters rushed to give praise to the pup with a “sweet disposition,” one person saying “Oh, PRAISE GOD that the little girl is safe! Millie and her partner deserve so much credit!”

“Millie, you are the hero we all wish came to save our day!!” someone said.

“Great job, Millie! I foresee a lot of treats in your future,” another wrote.

Palermo is about a 20-mile drive northeast from Augusta.
