’Hero’ dog saves Frenchie during seizure — and watches him for hours, video shows
An epileptic French bulldog was saved by a 16-month-old boxer after having a seizure in Connecticut, the dogs’ “thankful” owner said.
Sarah McArdle of Milford took to Facebook to share that she had been unsure about getting another dog after already having Yogi, according to the May 7 video.
Now, she’s certain it was the “best decision ever,” McArdle wrote in the post.
She had left for work and didn’t return until the evening when she saw Yogi was “blue in color,” she said.
McArdle’s boxer named Reggie was caught on video “rolling him over” instinctively during a seizure to help prevent aspiration before watching over him for over five hours and barking for help, the post said.
“Reggie saved Yogi’s life yesterday, and it’s a testament to the profound impact that animals can have on each other’s lives,” McArdle said.
As for Reggie’s reward for being a “hero” — he was scheduled to be given steak, she wrote.
Commenters of the post were in agreement that Reggie’s reward was fitting, with one person saying, “Stop it! I’m crying omg.”
“Dogs are the best,” another said.
“Wow! That’s incredible!,” someone wrote.
Milford is about a 10-mile drive southwest from New Haven.
