A middle school assistant principal told a student to give her a foot massage if he wasn’t doing anything better with his hands and touched him to demonstrate, Florida authorities said.

Keiva Lark, 53, is now charged with lewd/lascivious conduct and lewd offense against a student by an authority figure, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release April 10.

“This is abhorrent behavior for anyone who works among students, especially an administrator,” Polk County Public Schools Superintendent Fred Heid said. “This person no longer has any business being around children.”

The 13-year-old boy was sent to the office at Lake Marion Creek Middle School in Poinciana after he was accused of throwing a ball of paper across the classroom during a test, deputies said.

Two witnesses and the boy told deputies that Lark instructed the teen to rub her feet, then she took her shoes off and put her feet in his lap, according to investigators.

The boy began to rub her feet, but Lark complained he was doing it wrong, so she rubbed his arm and shoulder to demonstrate what she wanted, deputies said.

“A co-worker/witness heard Lark tell the student to rub her feet like he loved her,” the sheriff’s office wrote. “A witness also heard Lark tell the victim that she was doing this so he would know what foreplay is for when he gets a girlfriend.”

Several days later, Lark confessed to a witness that she had “crossed the line,” the witness told detectives.

The boy told investigators Lark called him “sexy chocolate” when she passed him in the halls.

Sheriff Grady Judd said Lark initially passed off her conduct as a joke but later said “her actions were inappropriate.” She maintained she didn’t say anything inappropriate, according to deputies.

The principal reported the incident April 4, and Lark was placed on administrative leave, according to the sheriff’s office.

Poinciana is part of the Orlando metropolitan area south of the city.
