A Texas woman is facing criminal charges after police say she went to her child’s school and threatened to shoot it up over bullying.

The 45-year-old woman is charged with making terroristic threats, according to court records.

McClatchy News is not naming the woman to protect the identity of the child.

On Jan. 30, police were called to Hoffman Middle School in Houston for reports of an unauthorized person on campus, according to a probable cause statement.

According to school staff, a student was buzzed into the school and the woman followed the student in through the doors without permission.

Two 12-year-old students reported that the woman was yelling in the hallways then went into the cafeteria and approached them and other students, making threats, according to court records.

One student told investigators that the woman questioned if she and others had bullied her child. Then, the woman said she would come back and shoot the school up, the court records said.

School staff said they recognized the woman as a parent of a student. Police said surveillance footage corroborated what the students reported.

McClatchy News reached out to the Aldine Independent School District regarding the incident but did not immediately hear back.

Prior to the incident, the woman had been convicted in several other cases between 1998 and 2018, court records show.
