A woman watched her security camera and saw her ex fleeing the home before her current boyfriend was found dead, Idaho police said.

The woman called 911 at about 1:40 p.m. on Feb. 23 and told the dispatcher she thought her boyfriend had been shot in the home, the Post Falls Police Department said in a news release.

She had been watching her camera system when she saw Jason M. Rook, 47, her ex-boyfriend, running from the home, police said.

Police said they went to the home and found her boyfriend dead with gunshot wounds.

Authorities said Rook fled the area.

He was found three days later in Coeur d’Alene and arrested on charges of first-degree murder and burglary.

Post Falls is about a 25-mile drive northeast from Spokane, Washington.
