A California man is dead after he was chased down and shot, then run over in the parking lot of a Home Depot, Los Angeles police told news outlets.

Investigators said the shooting happened at a Home Depot in North Hollywood at about 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, KTLA reported.

Two men got into an argument outside of the store and the suspect started chasing the victim, then shot him in the head and left the scene, police told KNBC. Moments later, a customer who was not connected to the shooting, and seemingly unaware of what happened, accidentally ran over the victim and drove away, according to police.

It’s not clear if the driver knew he hit a person.

Officers responded to the scene and found the man lying on the ground, KCBS reported. Police said he was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.

Police have not identified the man, who was in his 20s, the station reported, adding that an investigation is underway and a search is on for the suspect.
