Dog dumped at shelter desperately chases after its owner. Terrified pup is finally safe
A “poor” dog was dumped in Arizona and now the shelter wants answers.
On Dec. 30, a woman was caught on camera dumping her dog at the Pinal County Animal Care and Control center in Casa Grande, according to a Facebook post by the animal shelter.
The shelter said the woman dropped the dog off while the shelter was under construction, officials said.
The center wasn’t opened yet and an appointment is required for surrenders.
The pup was seen chasing the owner’s car after being dropped off and almost got struck after running into the road, the shelter said.
At first, the “terrified” dog was unable to be caught by shelter staff but eventually they were able to grab him, officials said.
The shelter is looking for its owner and asks anyone with information to call 520-509-3555, officials said.
Casa Grande is about a 50-mile drive south of Phoenix.
