‘Foster fails’ are taking over TikTok after Hurricane Milton. See the newly homed pups
People on TikTok are in agreement that one good thing came out of Hurricane Milton — some dogs from shelters finally found permanent homes.
TikTok is flooding with stories like that of @Nmariex17, who “decided to spontaneously foster Benito during Hurricane Milton,” according to a video that’s been viewed more than 1.7 million times as of Oct. 14.
After deciding to foster Benito, the TikToker nervously introduced him to their other dog, the Oct. 11 video showed.
Then they “quickly realized how sweet, loving, and kind he truly was,” the video read.
The TikToker became a “foster fail,” and commenters chimed in to thank Benito’s new owner “for doing this.”
“Seeing all of these foster fails from the hurricane is healing my heart,” one person said.
“This is the 3rd post I’ve seen of a Milton foster fail and it brings me joy that good is coming out of such a devastating situation,” another person wrote.
A pup named Rocco was a “foster fail,” too, according to an Oct. 12 video posted by TikTok user @A.beim.
“We couldn’t imagine our life without him,” the video that’s been viewed more than 240,000 times as of Oct. 14 read.
Rocco’s video had people “sobbing,” with one person saying, “All I do is cry over strangers on this app.”
“My heart is so happy,” another person wrote.
TikTok user @Brittmanifesting said she “impulsively went to foster and found the best boy in the world,” according to her video that has more than 926,000 views as of Oct. 14.
“He’s the sweetest, best thing ever to happen to me,” the TikToker said in her Oct. 12 video, talking about her new pup, Bubby.
Viewers said they were “so impressed with how many people fostered in the face of the hurricane!”
Others expressed gratitude toward the TikToker for adopting Bubby, with one person saying, “Awww thank you for saving a pound puppy they are always the best.”
“Beautiful thank you.” another wrote.
Users said these types of videos are ones they “could watch all day.”
“Heartwarming something so positive can come from such awful circumstances,” one wrote.
“I watch them all and cry. It’s what I do for fun now,” one person commented.
“Yep officially crying happy tears after crying sad hurricane tears for days,” another said.
