Kitten was stuck in Georgia storm drain. Then cop allergic to cats came to the rescue
An adorable kitten was stuck in a Georgia storm drain — until an officer allergic to cats came to the rescue.
The cop used food to “slowly and carefully” bring the bright-eyed kitten to the surface, according to photos that the Winder Police Department shared online.
Then after the rescue, there was more good news. The kitten, which was found with no identification, got a new home, police wrote Nov. 14 on Facebook.
A week earlier, police said an on-duty patrol officer “saw a bystander waving him down on the side of the road.” That led the cop to the trapped kitten, and he reached out to animal control and firefighters for help.
The Winder Fire Department took off the storm drain’s grate before the kitten made its way to safety. Since the baby animal had no collar, the bystander volunteered to take it, officials said.
Winder is roughly 50 miles northeast of Atlanta.
