Ever dreamed of owning an old fashioned castle with some Irish roots … but don’t want to head all the way to Ireland? Good news — a beautiful castle nicknamed the “Irish Bayou Castle” has landed on the real estate market in the Big Easy itself — New Orleans, Louisiana.

The two-bedroom and one-bathroom home, which was built in 1978, is listed for a cool $500,000 and is also called “The Fisherman’s Castle” thanks to its proximity to the water. The 1,318-square-foot home is considered “a staple of comfort for our great city,” the listing on Realtor.com says.

The castle “makes you feel like you are home when you are traveling west from out of town, built to show off the original owner’s construction skills for the 1984 Worlds Fair, recently undergoing renovations, this will make the perfect Bed and Breakfast or multiple business ventures.”

The residence has its own Facebook page and is considered an investor’s “dream.” It has been on and off the market for the past few years, the page shows.

The home even survived numerous hurricanes including Katrina, which left the residence with 12 feet of water, the Sun Herald reported.
